The Gyro Engine
This is a steam engine with a most unusual mechanism. It is named GYRO because the cylinder actually rotates and drives the flywheel. It is amazing to see it run as the flywheel and cylinder go round and round. For size reference the flywheel is 5 ¾” diameter. The materials are mostly aluminum bar stock, but a few pieces of brass bar stock are also required. Plans are an 8 ½² X 11² spiral bound book 13 pages. The completed engine and many of the parts are shown in color.
